Have I mentioned before that I am surrounded by idiots? Let me cut to chase and just tell you up front: the rebels got away. All of them. General Veers, bless his heart, must have destroyed two dozen armed speeders and and an entire line of infantry -- but those were just ants. We failed to take Mothma, Organa, Rieekan, Skywalker or even the traiterous fish Ackbar.
So youve been sitting on that downloaded copy of Hail to the Theif for a couple of years now, and you've been wondering what that nagging feeling is that percolates at the back of your subconcious. Well, Im no Scientologimist, but I bet if you were to head over to War Child Music and make some purchases, that feeling may go away.
Warchild is an MP3 download site offering every discernable scrap of the Radiohead catalog as well as tons of songs from the likes of Bjork, Four Tet, Aphex Twin, Danger Mouse, Outkast, and muchos more. Though still only selling in British Pounds, the site is "All Exclusive, and All for Charity", giving 100% of the funds raised to children of embattled countires.
Nishant has some retro-comic-strip-illustration beauties.

The Smithsonian is reopening in the historic Old Patent Office next summer, without it's controversial courtyard roof, designed by Sir Norman Foster winner of the 1999 pritzker prize. (arguably architecture's highest honor.) Fortunately, the canopy will be built later the in winter 2007. Read the whole story in the Washington Post.
Proposed canopy design by Sir Norman Foster.
Hopefully the canopy will go through, as the American capitol is not known for it's plethora of modern architecture. The canopy could help to reverse the trend of stodgy neo-colonial architecture.
Q to Joel Silver: This movie is one of those big special effects monsters, can you talk a little bit about numbers; how much of the money will go into special effects? I see there is a big green screen over here that makes me think we can expect a lot of CGI.
The least you can do, as a journalist, is some research if you're going to a press conference. V for Vendetta is (or at least should be) a film about people. This is no Armageddon or any other michaelbayish crap! I just hope Joel Silver and all the other persons involved in this project don't fuck it up. But I can't picture a movie starring Natalie Portman being as revolutionary as Alan Moore's work is. Wish I'm wrong. These are not good times for stories like the one this amazing graphic novel tells. A story on freedom and how to get it...
